It's been a really rough year, was changing jobs so I could finally make a living wage only to get sick and almost die 4 days before I was due to start my new job, needless to say I ended up not getting it when I got out of the hospital. So while I'm out of work I've been trying to think of little money makers, at least I have time now. I used to paint Christmas balls in high school and sell them, portraits of people's pets and kids. I couldn't find any orchid Christmas ornaments on ebay, so I tried making a little one.
My question is, as orchid fanciers, is something like this something you'd buy if you saw one? I'm NOT selling this rough little one. My painting and sculpting need work. This is just feeling the waters, seeing if this is something worth doing. It hangs or sits on the shelf.
It's about half or silver dollar sized. If it's a workable idea, I'll probably do other genera also. I was also thinking of the painted Christmas balls.

That would make a great gift for a orchid lover at Christmas or birthday, I see no reason why you couldn't sell them.

those are pretty cool . I think they would be more attractive IMO if there were more of them!! BUT I know they cant be that easy to make..But thats a novel idea for sales in like the arts and craft mom and pop stores.

I had a lady friend who made funky jewelry out of wire and that plastic dippin material. Just really 6th grade art stuff.
She made a living in the mom and pop stores selling it. Its just how you manage to work out a good price point so you dont oversell them where you cant keep up but make enough money to were its equitable for you to make them.

You have to price them accordingly is what I mean if that makes sense..

I would love to hang a few on my tree
