New Pink Succulent

New as in new to me, not new in the trade, of course.

I already have this one but green with red tip, which is cute.
I saw this one at a farmer's market and I was hooked at how cute it is! So it's now sitting by my window.

Pretty! One of my favorite things about succulents is all the neat colors they come in.

I think they call those Pachyphytum but I've never seen one quite so pink like yours, so I am subject to correction on the name.

This is a pink form of Sedum rubrotinctum.
Pachyphytum are usually covered with fine powder like substance, and these are very shiny on the suface.

Anyways, the "normal" form is green with red tip, but somehow it has turned completely green now after having it for a few weeks.
Anyone knows how to get the red back??

This pink one is so cute, but I notice that it also is turning green from the center of the plant, and it's only been barely one week!

You are quite right ... Pachyphytum are the grey while plants forms native to Mexico.
Try and give it more sun light, that may turn in more pinky red colour.

I agree..it is a sedum rubrotinctum...must have been growing in a cool, chilled area.
My jelly beans get those lovely colors when it feels chilled.

That makes sense because I have them sitting in the sun all day, so it gets hot in here.

The thing is, I'm sure the nursery, which isn't too far from my city, should be quite warm this time of the year. hmmm

I guess I will wait until the cooler weather arrives and see what happens with these guys.

I'm going to call this one pink jelly. lol

Pop it into the fridge overnight, just remember to take it out before heading off to work the next morning. See then if it turns colour.
I'm sure the commerical nurseries have cooling rooms in order to achieve this colouration before selling them.

In fact, here in Africa where we have very mild winters (if any winter at all) people put ice into their cymbidium pots in order to get their cymbidiums to bud. Commercial cymbidium growers in Kenya put their plants into freezer / cooler rooms in order to bud cymbidiums at the right time to supply international cut flower markets.

So before heading to bed tonight, put it onto the fridge (not the freezer) and tell us in a weeks time whats happened to the colour.

First, crank up the light. High light is typically a major prereq for good color.

Some succs do desire cooler temps coupled with high light and a sharp decrease in water to color up. However, there are many that will do so without cooler temps.

You might need to keep an eye on that media -- looks very peat heavy which is not generally a good thing.
