I wasn't going to try them again after having to pitch my previous bunch of African Violets due to some kind of insect infestation. The plants were like 3$ each and I purchased them for the purpose of having a learning experience. I learned and when I saw bugs, I tossed them.
When I was at a local nursery, I was surprised to find a big selection of AVs! They all looked clean and there were no signs of insect activity, so I decided to take a chance.
This one is Mac's Rouge Rogue. It's a semi-miniature, variegated with blood red blooms. Apparently it's not very prolific, but I loved the foliage so I had to try it. I think this one will need to be divided.
The other one's called Pink Jade, which I think will open up in a week or two. The flowers on this one appear to be quite striking and there aren't a lot of photos of this one on the internet, so I'm excited to see what it looks like.
