Thank you, susie
I appreciate that. You know, I felt so bad for so long waiting for a transplant that once I got one, at first I realized that I now could eat things I could not eat on dialysis. Having to stick to a half a cup of mashed potatoes for a helping was terrible. (You are restricted as far as potassium and phosphorus are concerned) It also restricted many other fruits and vegetables. When I was suddenly able to eat them, I did. So I had to make up for some of that eating by exercising. I have lost somewhere between five and seven pounds in the last couple of months, and my overall tone is much better than before. I still have to work on my core and abdonminals, though. Thanks again.

Obviously, it has been awhile
It's been quite some time since I have posted to this thread. I am doing much, much more to exercise now than I was before. I have a personal trainer twice a week that assists when I lift weights, and I have been averaging about 30 miles a week on the treadmill walking. I also take occasional bike rides with my wife--at least a couple of time a week. By the time I am done next week, I will have walked 125 miles for the month. I have been trying to lose weight and also keep my blood sugar in check. I am starting to firm up and condition myself, but the weight is not coming off as fast as I would like it to do. I am lifting more weight than I ever did in high school or afterwards, and considering I used to deliver soda to grocery stores, that's not too bad. I hope before the end of the year to be able to bench press more than my own weight. We will see if that happens or not.

Hey Gregg, I have been wondering how you're doing. I almost sent you a PM to see, but didn't want you to think I was prying. Anyway, so glad you are on track and I'm in awe of your determination! You are an inspiration to us all! There is never a negative to becoming fit and the best we can be. You truly amaze me! Kudos!!!!!
Are you whipping your orchids into shape also?

Thanks
that is a little harder. It is more difficult than I thought than to lose weight with the meds I take, but I am sure that it will come.

Pretty good
Well, I am under 210 for the first time since November 2007, right after transplant. I still have quite a bit to do, but I am getting there.

Well, still here and at it!!
Yup, I am still hitting the exercise, now harder than ever. I have had a virus that made me very tired, and that kind of put a damper on the activity for awhile. But now, I am back and going strong. I am going to buy a leg press/hack squat machine to add to the treadmill I bought at the beginning of the year. Right now, I have been working out three times a week with weights, walking a mile before each of those sessions and riding a recumbent bike about 75 or 80 miles a week. The weight is not coming off as fast as I would like it to, but then, I guess you really don't want to lose alot really quick. I have learned alot of new exercises, too.
