Reddish coloration is likely due, in at least small part, to the amount of light the plant receives. Tippitiwitchet was the name used for Dionaea muscipula by American natives.

You'd better off by "partially killing" the cricket and then just place it right on the trap.

No, it is a different variety.

I have had a few and they were all side by side getting the same light.
Some were completely light green all the way through, and some were green with some red and some were all red.

All red ones were not the supermarket, but from an online vendor years back and it was rather expensive compared to other varieties.

pitcherplant dot com, I think, use to offer some color varieties. Rob now has a minimum order value of $100, however.

We sell "pinhead" crickets at the store. All I have to say about that is.... Eeeeeewww.

The third plant is now sending up an inflorescence... all the plants in that bog are in bloom!
