That is a lovely plant!
I am also growing Fuchias first time this year. I added water gels in the soil when I repotted it and since it is very hot and dry here, I try to water every other day. It is responding nicely, endured our triple digit the other week and is on its 2nd flush of blooms. I deadheaded the first batch of blooms after it wilted to encourage the 2nd flush to form.

Good to know they can take high temps for a short time!

It is in full sun for only about 3 hours, then the rest of the day it gets dappled sun from the city trees. So I think that helped too.
