Waiting if these two epicacti will be able to push their blooms properly. Early this year I got a couple of buds in other epis, but they blasted due to the cranky weather.

But I am excited to see these two now..weather is now much more warmer, and just a tad windy, but I think it is better. I got them as cuttings last year, so have no idea how the blooms will look like. Fingers crossed!



I thought this batch of cuttings is going dead..then I saw the bud...hope rekindled!!!

I have two similar looking cacti in bloom right now. Always called them Orchid Cactus. I never knew the proper name. One blooms a huge gorgeous yellow bloom larger than my hand. the other is a stunning red/orange of the same type of bloom but smaller, although still a good size. Are these what you have?

I do not know what type these two are, they were just give aways from another garden friend.

Yes they are also called Orchid Cactus..though officially called as Epiphyllums.

I have one that bloomed last year called Epiphyllum 'Newport', huge flower, but so short lived, just two days.

Nice looking buds, I have a red one that should bloom around late July and a night blooming one that will start to bloom if the weather ever warms up over 70 f
