Anybody know what kind of plant this is?

It's my moms and I like it. She doesn't remember what it is. She said she bought it potted like this. Although she said it was a much fuller plant. She's convinced it's dying. I noticed when she watered it should filled it with water. She's out of town so I dumped out most of the water so that it's only in the hydroton part. It's also got some bark/moss type stuff that the roots are growing through on top of the hydroton. Seems to be a bit happier since I got rid of some of the water.
