Best website to buy seeds.

Hello. Do any of you guys know a good website where I can buy seeds or capsules. Country doesn't matter aslong as they have international shipping.

I think ebay is the answer, or friends or other orchid grower (you can ask also here). Here in Italy a lot of people join a facebook page for orchids lovers where we share pics, experiences and, of course, seeds and capsule.

The ebay seller kumpol_p lists quite a few seeds online, I've purchased from him before and have always gotten germination. $6 US for a decent packet of seeds, enough for a couple of mother flasks. Not the most diverse selection but its a start. There's another one from Germany that I've recently purchased from but can't comment on germination yet.

I'd also suggest kumpol_p, he shipped quite quickly one year ago. Successful germination with two species out of six species bought.

orchidseed.com has a good set of varieties, too. Although the seeds seem old, I was able to germinate brassavola nodosa seeds that were reported to be collected in 2006. I ordered two more species from there but didn't have any positive results.

It was my first attempt to germinate seeds and I hadn't done lab work since high school. As far as I saw around, results are better when you try with a fresh capsule. It takes time and lots of energy for a plant to mature one, thus few are willing to sell their fresh capsules in temperate climates.
