its not only Google that tracks your page views. Bing definitely does. Amazon and Home Depot do so as well. We recently bought a washer/dryer from HD. For a couple of days I got "suggestions" pop up randomly. Ironically I also got an e-mail from HD of some suggestions and the price of the washer/dryer had dropped - I got a refund of this price difference. ( On big purchases, I always do a price check before 30 days - but this was handy ! )
You can also open a browser page in private mode. Mozilla has a feature where you can open a "private window" and once this is closed, all tracking history/cookies are eliminated.
BTW - Bing has a rewards programme that allows you to collect points based on the number of searches you do. Its definitely worthwhile joining, I have had at least $200 worth of rewards in the past 2 years alone. All for doing what I was going to do anyway !
