I have Two Nepenthes (low land) plant from the year 2012. One small plant is now become tall but from few months I saw red spots mostly in all leaves of both plants and the top most leaf of tall plant becomes brownish like dryback. Both plants are in my orchid house under 60% shade net with my phalaenopsis. No pitcher appeared from long time. What can I do for them? Please help.

What is your water quality and do you fertilize them?

Failure to pitcher is usually a result of low light and humidity. But clearly you have bigger troubles than no pitchers!!!

The plant next to it appears to have the same thing, but the new growth is unaffected. Does this happen from the roots up? If so, we may be looking at a fungus of some sort. Neem oil is my go-to antifungal treatment (it is also an excellent pesticide, as well, incase this is from an insect).

You should also take a look at your soil, how old and broken down is it? Nepenthes like an airy, well-draining mix.

The vining plant pictured appears to have a basal that seems fairly healthy, so my final suggestion to you is this: Cut off the vine, throw it away. Check the soil, repot if necessary. Spray the remaining basal with Neem or some other fungicide/insecticide. Look into increasing the light and humidity around the plant.

This is an excellent resource if you have further questions about your Nepenthes:

First, take two aspirins and chill out.

Just cut off all of the infected leaves close to the stem. Then spray it with a fungicide/miticide. Also cut off the tip to encourage branching along the vine as well as the plant itself. If the mix is broken down that it stay sopping wet then repot it. I pot mine in old spagnum moss of an orchid and some treefern, crushed lava rock, and soil as well as some sawdust. I keep it hanging and in bright and breezy area.

If its low light then the leaves would be deep green but if it did not have enough water then it would be a grayish green color with a leathery texture.

No need for radical actions.
