I have played the piano and cello with a little bit of the guitar mixed in. I miss being able to play with an orchestra and the last time I did was in college. I self taught the xylophone and marimba. Which wasn't that hard since I could read piano music.
One of these days I would love to get a keyboard, so if I move I don't have to worry about a piano. Movers are not that fond of pianos apparently.

I don't know about anyone else but I have Pandora on my IPad and phone. There are a lot of good bands and musicians on there to listen to. I listen to modern classical to heavy metal (usually when I have a bad day at work). I also heard that I Heart Radio is a good site to listen to a verity of music too.

What a great post! I myself am a french horn player. My spirit is caught in horn music! However i much enjoy my current musical field of concert percussion ie marimba xylo which i teach at my home high school during marching sea son. I first learned saxophone though and occassionally play it when im in the mood to set it up/tune etc or any woodwind for that matter (i also play clarinet and bassoon). I suck at piano but will learn it someday...
As for music interest anything that i hear at the moment i listen to it and if i like the music will do. Im not to fond of following anything in particular except when arranging music for my students when i go for upbeat exciting music. Im a sucker for a well composed movie soundtrack though and usually find that i sleep better with a well scored movie playing in the background

I play drums, but not as much as I used to. Hard to play when you know someone up stares is watching T.V. etc. But I still love to jam! As you can tell from my signature I like the Beatles but that is just the tip of the iceburg. I like most everything that I like depending on my mood if that makes sense.

Speaking of beauty and the beast! LINK #24
I added a star trek one at #25 heheh
For relaxation ...... listening and/or playing music is so nice. Adding orchids to the relaxation activities is so nice as well.
I really like piano. Would love to have learned some violin! Nice to know you play violin mgp! Was also interested to see if other members tinker with music instruments too. Also noticed rbarata and estacion like piano too.

Will just add my wav file version of the Star Trek 'First Contact' movie theme music ----- or actually, modified (by me) from the original theme that Jerry Goldsmith composed.
I made this one and played it very recently for piano film theme music contribution on an online piano forum. I like Star Trek! (but also like lots of other things too).
Star Trek - First Contact theme - Piano

I have played drums in the long past, but now I stick with a cajon. I do sing, though, in my church choir and groups ranging from an oratorio ensemble to community choirs, although I have refrained from the local “Sea Notes”, whose repertoire is not that great of a fit for me, and - at 70 - I am on the young end of the demographics.
My musical interest was heavily focused on Tchaikovsky when I was young, flipping to The Doors in high school. Now, I spend a lot of time listening to Mark Knopfler while packing orders.
