Default Fossils and Fungi at Slide Mountain

Made two visits to Slide Mountain last fall to look for fossils. It is an amazing place with fossils everywhere, some small enough to pick up others so large it would take a crane to move them. Saw a lot of interesting fungi as well (my new interest, along with native orchids).

I'm a geologist as well as an orchid lover, so I can especially appreciate the fossil photos!

I lke the fungi, too.

Thanks for sharing.

Very artistic photos captured with a sharp eye for details and composition. They show the beauty of the science of nature. Not for stay-at-homes and couch potatoes.

Neat. I'm sort of a 'fungi fiend' too.

Nice pictures as usual Ron. I too love fungi, I really need to get a better camera.

But what ever I will some day. That orange one is great.

I just love your pictures! Fossils! I just love fossils. When digging my pond, I found a few of shellfish and one or two of plants but they were far from impressive. The ones in your pictures, however, are just wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

Ron, my brother and sister in law do volunteer trail maintainence at Slide. I am going to have to find some way to share your photos with them! Fantastic!

OOPs, wrong Slide Mountain! I had better find my glasses before I do any more posts!
