I have only 4 "other" than orchids plants - papyrus bamboo, small Hoya kerrii, large nepenthes and extra large passion fruit in purple color. I do love this plant, it is vine like growing plant that makes my balcony look like a true jungle from the outside, attaching to the railing, walls, trees:-) It's flowers open actually only for one day, but it blooms constantly through out the year, and the blooms is like a "space flower":-)

Definitely a Passiflora, but not P. caerulea, as caerulea is decidedly blue. Right off hand i'm just going to say that that's P. incarnata simply because that's probably the most common purple passionflower, but i know that passiflora is a large genus (wikipedia tells me that it has more than 500 species) and it's going to take some closer analysis for a definitive identification.

Pretty. I had a passion fruit vine which produces good tasting fruit but I have left it outside because it takes up far too much space in the winter. I need that indoor space for my orchids!

Very pretty, I love passion flowers. I bought some passion fruit about two years ago at Chelsae market and got a seed to grow. Currently the vine is taking over one of my east facing windows but is now moving in the direction of one of the plant lights. I hope it blooms and gets to fruit. I love passion fruit and passion fruit juice! Moving this to the off topic forum.

There is a hardy one that can winter here but it doesn't seem to produce fruit. The one I left outside has one of the best fruits but didn't produce very heavily. They don't ripen until winter, so this year it's 2 fruits got frosted, since I don't want it indoors again.
They have to ripen on the vine and fall off when they are ripe.

Thanks Tindomul, I was told by the friend who gave me this that this is not really the one producing the fruits:-) It is decorative only plant, as I do understand it. I have hundreds of blooms through out the year but they do die in 24 hours and than nothing forms:-)

SlipperGirl, YOU CAN! As strange as it sounds, this is the plant my grandma used to grow back in Czech, inside the house, year round! She had it in a big pot, and there was few wire bridges made for the plant to "vine on". They are still extremely popular in house plants back in Europe and many people grows them, the only thing is, you have to trim them often, but it is worth the work for the gorgeous blooms!
