I don't know if you are familiar with these peppers - commonly sold in bottles or at deli's. The peppers, orange when ripe, are sweet and uniquely tasty. The seeds are patented and its extremely difficult to get hold of them, even plants are rare.
I got some seeds from family in Zimbabwe and planted a few. Unfortunately our season is too short but the good news is that the plants are perennial, the bad news is that they are relatively huge ! I have had to bring mine indoors. Its covered in fruit - I just hope that it can make it through Winter on reduced sunlight.
Plants are at least 3 feet tall.

Peppers do pretty well indoors as a houseplant. I didn't raise my hot peppers this year as I have enough from last year but I normally bring them in when autumn comes. Mine usually live until February in a north-facing window without much effort so I am guessing with better light and care, it wouldn't be difficult to keep one alive all year. As the types I grow are so common, they have just never been a high priority for me. Good luck!

^ I've never heard of them either, but they do sound really tasty! I would like to try seeds too, if ya wanna share with us! ... & hey, it's a win-win... If something were to happen (heaven forbid!), you would have back-up plants! ...yes, I'm slightly devious

So how have your pepper plants done? I'm planning on trying to get some seed, I read that they're slow growing for a pepper. I've eaten them though, and they're WONDERFUL.

they did very well. These are a perennial so would do well in Florida.......hmm maybe not in the humidity. I didn't have space to overwinter so died off.
Available usually at Whole Foods olive bar.
