I got this nice plant (anyone know what it is?) when I had surgery nearly 3 years ago, it has always done really well but now it has fuzzy white stuff on the soil and small white bugs!

I don't know what to do with it.

Bugs might be gnats - they love moist potting mix. Mold happens. Probably not hurting the plant, but you may not want spores flying around your home. You can use hydrogen peroxide, or Physan. Or repot into fresh potting mix.

Not sure what it is, except that my Mum always used to have them.

I would possibly keep it slightly drier, both the mold and the bugs are probably attracted to the damp environment.
