Default Hibiscus

I have several Hibiscus in the yard and decided to share some photos I took yesterday just after the rain. The last one is 9.5" across!

I have several hardy varieties that can put on quite a show for about a month, but the tropicals are something else!

Kim, the extra bonus here is that they keep blooming the year round! I also have yellow, orange and one they say it is 'blue', but to me it is sort of a nice grey.

Talking My babies

Can't help but show my little ones - They are in the house for about 2 weeks now after spending the summer and early fall outdoors and they are still blooming. These photos were shot from the end of Aug into Sept of this year. Enjoy
These are hybrids from Yoder Brothers, Inc.
1- Hurricane Lily (white with red/pink splash)
2- Belize Breeze (pink with white center)
3- Montego Wind (orange with pink center)

Oh, Dorothy, they are beautiful. How fortunate you are to be able to have a long enough growing season for them. I try every year and every year they just reach the blooming stage when they have to come in. I have a yellow one beside me right now that has dropped all its buds so will be going into 'cool storage' for the winter. Maybe next year.

Maine does have a short outdoor growing season. Try a little bloom booster in the spring .. don't forget to give it some basic fertilizer once a month in the winter months or you can try one with a higher nitrogen to stimulate root growth.

I wish the best growing and blooming for your hibiscus in the coming year
