The role of ultraviolet in diversity and pollination of orchids - Research project
Default The role of ultraviolet in diversity and pollination of orchids - Research project

Hi,
I'm a researcher working with orchids at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. I've been committed to this research for over a year and am passionate about orchids. We are currently trying to crowdsource some funding for needed equipment for our project, and I thought it might be possible for me to post information about it here.
I truly believe people will be interested in the information provided on our page, even if they don't want to support us by donating. I won't include the link to the page here in case it is not allowed.
I don't want to break the rules of the community, and want to check whether this would be considered spam. It is educational...and not for profit since it's research, and I believe relevant to the future of orchids.
I was also planning on including this image of Psychopsis Mariposa in the post which relates to the work we do!
Thanks for the help.
Sincerely,
A dedicated researcher

Sonya and I are checking with the OB Admins whether this would be OK or not.

If you want to send PM's to any members like hcastil3 above who have expressed an interest in more info then that's obviously fine while we wait for the Admin's comment.

After response from Marty, I've moved this to the Off-Topic area and changed the title, and I'm also giving it this bump

We don't as such want to allow requests for funding on the general principle of not wanting to open the doors to a lot of them. However if you want to see more information about this you can either send OrchidResercher a PM or click here to see her website.
