Default more cactus flowers and one more new cactus!

Both of my gymnocalycium (Baldianum?) are shown here.

I bought one more cactus while at HD last week.
It was one of those little ones with fake flowers glued on top of them.
The interesting and nice thing about these are that every single one of them come with ID stick with full name!

HD also carries cactus without fake flowers stuck on them, and they come in three different sizes. and without ID tag. how strange. maybe just different nurseries or something.

Anyhow, I came home and took the fake flower off. In the process, I slightly damaged the cactus taking bits off of it. I hope this does not pose too much harm on the plant. You can see the green "bald" spot on it.

The spines are pink and in unique arrangement. I like it.
The description says the flowers are deep rose color.

Very nice. We've also noticed that some of the "big box" stores are carrying some more interesting cacti and succulents that are actually decently labeled.

Euplasia, are all of those the same species? Good variation in color.

Thanks for the cactus pics.
I have several "old man" cacti, but have never gotten them to bloom (not sure if its fert problem or a temp drop problem).
The main attraction for me is the odd colored spines (hot yellow or red).

Thank you for the pictures.
They have interesting flowers, very full and frilly petals.

I'm not an expert, so I have no idea about these.

I do know that epiphyllum and holiday cactus as we call them in the US and some others require cool winter to bloom well.

My mother used to have quite a few cactus, some echinopsis and gymnoclaycium. She had them out in the sun all the time except for winter when she would bring them in. I do not remember how cool she kept them during the winter but I do remember that all of them flowered every year.
