The chinese cobra lilly is an aroid plant, related to arum. It grows extremely easy and needs a lot of water and fertilizer during active growth, and a long dry winter rest.
The maroon striped flowers resemble a cobras head.
It is said that plants can be grown year round outside and can stand our winters. So far I kept it potted in my winter garden. But when I have some spare bulbs, I will look for a place in my garden.
Lovely plant and extremely well grown. I have grown this here (NW Arkansas, US) and it is quite hardy. We see occasional overnight lows of -28 C (though not for some years now). It is not cold that kills Asian Arisaema outdoors here but disease. In pots they do well.
