Why people believe this, because there is no evidence to prove it. So I don’t worry about it and just doing my daily business without worries of worlds ending.

So this poll is set to close automatically tomorrow.
I for one think that I will be shopping, since I haven't done so already.
I would like to say, having been raised superstitious and trying to live a life of rationality is really difficult. Family doesn't help, and even when rationality wins over, you always have a little corner of your brain that believes in the superstition. Just my experience.
Is superstition just a natural aspect of humantiy, or can babies be taught to totally ignore it for the rest of their lives?
Still interested in what new members who haven't already voted think.

you haven't started shopping yet!!!! Oh man, the type A person in me is going nuts hearing that!!! I've been basically done since Halloween. I'm totally anal about not going any where near the stores this time of year!
As for the world ending. No, of course not. Yes I can be superstitious for fun, but not for real.

If they could predict the world's end why couldn't they predict the end of their own empire?
My computer will do a calender, too, that will print out the next 1500 years, but that doesn't mean it knows when the world will end.

LOL!!! I, too, read a post from someone where it is already Friday. But as someone quickly pointed out, "wouldn't the Mayan calendar operate on where they were located since they thought the world was flat?!" LOL...
Personally, I think I'll just open up one of those expensive wines I've been storing for the future and enjoy tonight in style! (Or at least that's the excuse I'll use in opening one if them at least, lol... Been dying to open one for a few years!!!)
