Mr. Cardinal
So, I'm sitting here in my home office and I keep hearing this chirping sound...what could it be?
Then he starts pecking at the window...
When that doesn't work, he starts flying up and down the window and beating it with his wings.
He's been at it for 2 hours now...I sure hope he tires out soon

Good Point Sue!
Dave, Yes he is a young one, we have a whole family that raise their young here every year. And you are right that cardinals do get aggresive with their reflections. Poor thing I kept trying to shoo him away, but he kept coming back. Thankfully the sun set and he finally got a break...

I can see how it might be seeing it's reflection and trying to scare itself away ..
I get many birds that fly into the windows here when they are cranked open because the reflection they see looks like the sky behind them .. there is a distinct thump that comes with window crashing that my ears have grown familiar to. Most get jolted as they glance off the glass, fall to the ground and give themselves a few minutes to regain their composure then fly off, yet there have been some fatalities

Cardinals are so beautiful. They stand out so bright against snow in the winter. OOPS! Is snow a dirty word at this time of the year?

I knew there was something different about this one as opposed to the ones I'm familiar with (adult males and females). Very nice set of photos.

Snow isn't a dirty word around here. Wish we'd get just one days worth!
Thanks for the compliments on the photos!
