Have you heard? Big cicada wave coming soon Tri-State area
Careful with your plants, i heard on the news today it's been 17 years and a big wave of cicadas are gonna emerge from the ground in may and scientists say they are going to ebe HUGE! "The current group, Brood No. 2, is one of the largest ever — numbering in the billions"
As an insect enthusiast i'm excited to hear them at night and study them.

Interesting. So is it just in the Tri-State area that this is expected, or nationwide?

When I was a kid, I lived by a woods and we had them everywhere. I wasn't afraid or grossed out by them but I did get a bit tired of seeing them. Washing the car wasn't too fun, either.

Excited? If you live near an older woods, they are...everywhere...and, as Bob pointed out, loud.
