Moth ID?
I found this moth outside of my house and am wondering if anyone knows what it could be.
I'm fascinated by it.

Nice photos! Looks like some type of Sphingid, or Sphinx Moth. These are my favorite insects despite many of the caterpillars being voracious in the garden (tomato hornworm, etc.). They look like hummingbirds when flying, truly amazing to watch.

Probably this one: Hyles lineata.

That's exactly what it is!
I'm happy to have an id.
My vague searches of "Brown moth pink wings" wasn't going very well.

I already got an id lol..I've seen bigger too... but it's not often insects make out this far into suburbia... the pesticides normally get them first.

Did you get it down to species? maybe tomorrow when I look in my books I can get it for you. I will at least, give it a try.

It looks similar to the humming bird moths I get around here. I can't say for certain because I couldn't get one to be sill enough for pics like yours.
