Default Fall Color in Northern Michigan

As requested yesterday, here is a sampling of the images I made yesterday in the fall color. This area is in the morainal hills section of northern lower Michigan.

Enjoy

These photos make me homesick. It's the most beautiful time of year and, the shortest. Just like summertime, dusk is the best time of day for me and again, the shortest.

Your photos are beautiful and how lucky you are to live amongst all this.

Thank you for posting these.

Such beautiful colors. I think the red is my favorite. We NEVER get red leaves here in Brooksville, Florida!
Our grass and trees are still green, and just now beginining to slow down.

On a side note, I noticed this year that for whatever reason the Sugar Maples which normally are bright yellow ranging to salmon-pink are intense reds (well lots are anyways). Usually the Red Maples are the bright reds. Even the Aspen are ranging toward orange instead of yellow. It's been one of the brightest and longest fall color seasons in the last 30 years I've been here. Not sure if that means anything, but my snow blower is all tuned up and ready to go!
