Wilting Plumeria
HELP! i repotted my plumeria and it wilted. i am super sad, this was a cutting brought back from hawaii from my sister in law. i just did this yesterday...previously it was all upright...
anyone know what happened? i had a hard time getting it out of the pot it was in previously and i am worried i broke the roots from the base.

Plumeria aka Frangipanni
At a guess, I would say you have far too much leaf area through which the plant can loose moisture - I would reduce the surface area by cutting the leaves in halves cross-ways.
I am guessing you transplanted it from another pot and disturbed the roots and reduced it's ability to take up water?

yeah - i had no idea they were so sensitive to movement, I am heading towards the cutting off most if not all the leaves - and seeing if it will regenerate again....

I would not worry too much about it. I take cuttings from my 2 plumerias all the time and pot them up. If you moved it to a bigger pot then it is just adjusting. It might lose most of the leaves but make sure the soil does not dry out. The new growth at the top should stay the same. Love these plants. So many colors and some are fragrant.

When I re-pot mine they look horrible for about 2 weeks then perk back up and explode with new growth, give it time and keep it watered.

I wouldn't worry about it either. The best thing to do is put it somewhere where it won't be bothered until the roots get established. The leaves will likely plump out but if they don't it will get new leaves, as everyone has said.
I have had my three at least ten years and I still have them in a twelve inch inch pot, now set in a larger from failed hopes of adding stability. Good luck!

my plumeria about to flower
my poor wilted plumeria did recover( with a permanent bend as a reminder) - and after figuring out that i needed to let it go dormant in the winter, its about to show me its first flowers soon. It will be the first time ever seeing these flowers in person. crazy. this one is supposed to be a light pink - guess i will have to wait and see.

Not to worry about the bend in your Plumeria, I have 3 or 4 that are bent but still bloom like crazy. In Hawaii you will see a lot of them bent from the wind, I hope yours will give you lots of flowers.
