That's insane! Sure wasn't for their personal consumption though...

Good to know. Sadly I don't have many of my orchids here.. :( However my orchids are in their own cabinet with doors on the other side of the room, and there is a cabinet full of flasks as well only a few feet from there. So far I haven't noticed any adverse affects to either.

I did just set a Phal near them today so I could enjoy the blooms but I will likely move it.

Your tomato plants are huge already!! I assume that they are not for planting outside? I only just sowed mine last week, since I can't plant them in the garden until mid may.

I always start my plants at the beginning of February and plant them mid may. I like to plant them early so I can bury them 12" - 18" inches deep. To be honest usually they are only about 6" by now, however this year they are closer 20" This year I used 1 65 watt and 1 32 watt 12000k actinic reef lights. Perhaps that has something to do with it.

BTW - they are all heirloom varieties that I have save seed from for years.

I think this is the first time I've heard of anyone inheriting tomatoes... :scratchhead:

Plant a few Hibiscus cannabinus or Hibiscus coccineus among your tomatos and I bet your neighbor will sneak over for some midnight harvesting...

Heirloom tomatoes (aka Heritage tomatoes)

An heirloom is generally considered to be a variety that has been passed down, through several generations of a family because of it's valued characteristics. Since 'heirloom' varieties have become popular in the past few years there have been liberties taken with the use of this term for commercial purposes
What is an Heirloom Tomato?

One winter, I had grow lights (for supplemental lighting for orchids) in an otherwise mostly unused half-bath - One early evening (already dark out being winter), I walked by another (dark)room on the same side of the house, and noticed how bright the light coming from that bathroom was, and thought that neighbors might begin to wonder what all that light coming from my window is for lol

 I am a glutton for strange and unusual plants, and this is what led me to growing heirloom tomatoes. I am a potter by trade and during a spring garden show the vendor next to me was selling heirloom tomatoes. I traded for a few of his most unusual varieties. (Fuzzy tomato called Red Peach - A german stuffing tomato that is hollow like a pepper - and a Yellow pear, where you guess it the tomatoes look like pears). Believe it or not I was not a fan of tomatoes at the time and usually removed them from any sandwich they were on. The flavor however on these varieties was out of this world, and I was hooked and search began.

Which led me exactly to that site where I bought many of my seeds from some 8 or 9 years ago. I've been saving them ever since.
