My friend was washing windows around the house and decided to use my plant misting bottle. I saw this and thought it was fine. What I didn't know was that she mixed vinegar in it. Now, a couple days later, I'm smelling vinegar everytime I mist and wondering what that smell is. I finally narrowed it down to Phyllis, my tillandsia xerographica, named after Phyllis Diller for her wild hair style. After I told my friend that "Phyllis is stinking" she remembered that she had forgotten all about the vinegar. So hopefully Phyllis will suffer no long term damage.

ask your friend how much percent solution of vinegar per water she used...
if it was pure vinegar: just flush the whole plant with water until you feel theres no more vinegar
