What bug problem? Was the earwig in one of the wild S. purpurea photos? I was wondering what that thing was.
I'll be picking up my Nepenthes edwardsiana this weekend. I'll definitely post pics of it as soon as I can.

It's a lot harder, especially from seed. It's the easiest of the toothy species. Super slow grower, so it takes a lot of patience. I'm definitely getting a portable A/C and humidifier once I can track down some good ones.

That would definitely not be a bug dreamhouse!
Love them! At a greenhouse, I saw some huge pitcher plants...a robin could have fit in the pitchers!
I really enjoy the pictures!

Bugs don't last long in the house. Outside is a slightly different story. That Cephalotus is a really rare cultivar that an acquaintance developed. It gets big for a Ceph, too. The big one you saw was probably N. truncata.
