The weather...
I just have to complain about it for a bit.
This week it has been crazy; one day it's sunny and you can practically smell spring in the air, the next day it's overcast skies, gloomy and there's a northerly wind blowing through the very core of your being, the following day it's spring again with birds singing and children playing, the day after that it rains, then snows, then it rains for a bit more, and finishes with a heavy snowfall... The temperature varies from above to below freezing point which results in snow melting only to turn into bare ice the next day.
I WANT SPRING AND I WANT IT NOW!
But it's really too early for spring here in Sweden. As a matter of fact, it's too early for this type of wacky weather too because it's more typical of March/April. So in reality I have no reason to complain but I did anyway.

Hahaha!!!! That sounds like Saskatchewan weather!!! We have been blessed with the warmest winter that I can remember, so its a pretty hard blow to see it snow, even though normally its -30C* and there is a foot of snow this time of year.

Yes, somehow you expect spring to come earlier when the entire winter has been unusually warm (it's the same here in Sweden, we've had a rather warm winter too) only to have your expectations shattered in the face of a blizzard.
Minus 30*C?! I don't think I've ever experienced temperatures as low as that. Below 20, sure, but 30? No. I live further south in Sweden than I did when growing up so unfortunately the winters here are not as white. I love snow but not when I want spring to come.
Today the weather even managed to go through all stages, mentioned in my previous post, within the span of two hours. There was a horizontal blizzard when I woke up which later turned into some heavy duty rain which in its turn turned into sunshine. It's really typical behaviour of the weather in March/April, but not of the weather in February.

It has been so warm, my fruit trees are getting close to blooming. It is yet too cold for bees and cold weather is sure to follow. I just keep hoping that they will wait.

Dang, sounds like our crazy weather!
December- january was really mild, to the point the the snowdrops, early crocuses and early daffodils were all up and blooming mid January. Then we got hit by 2 weeks of absolutely frigid (but sunny) weather recently, where the daytime high was -8°C on a 'warm' day. In fact, most mornings it was between -14 and -18°C! The dutchies really enjoyed it because they could go ice skating (their national sport) over frozen rivers/canals. That was lots of fun!
And today was much the same as in Sweden. Bright and sunny this morning, with not a cloud in sight. Then it was pouring rain, followed by heavy snow. Then bright blue sky, and now rain again. All in the space of 4 hours! But that's typical dutch weather for any time of year...

Today, I'm sitting in shorts and a t-shirt, sweating - it's over 30 here...!

This was spring number 1 for the year, pics I took on January 15th.
Some azaleas were already blooming, as well as rhododendrons (not pictured), and a lot of roses....

Wow! The weather is nuts. A few years ago, most of orchards in Ohio lost their apples due to a late frost. It put many orchards out of business. I can't imagine what happened to the fruit trees in Europe with that early spring. I'm fortunate that it is only a hobby for me and I actually save money on the sprays but having fruit trees really makes you aware how fragile our supply of fruit is.

Apparently it's not only in Sweden that the weather is a bit bonkers. I think some bushes were budding in December because it was so mild.

*coughs*
Thank you for poting it out, I've corrected the spelling errors now. It's quite embarrassing to make mistakes like that.

Our winter has been really mild too. Last year it was too cool for the bees to pollinate the fruit trees. I hope that doesn't happen again. Our bulbs are beginning to bloom here.
