Default Bald Eagle nest

I know some of you may get to see these majestic Bird often, but here in S. Florida at least for me they are a rare sight. While walking to a area of Big Cypress I have never been before my buddy and I noticed this awesome sight. My buddy first noticed it and seen a white head above the rim. As we got closer she jumped up to a higher branch. After a few minutes the mate showed up. We tried to get as close as we could and realized we were disturbing them and decided to go. I'm looking forward on going back with high powered binoculars and seeing some Eaglets.

Cool! Living in the Northwest, these are a pretty common sight for me, but I still love seeing them! But even here a nest is rare. You're lucky to have deciduous trees there so you can see it!

There's a bald eagle nest somewhere near the edge of a state park near my parents' home, but as almost all the trees are evergreen Douglas firs we've never been able to do more than see the parents and fledglings coming and going. It's really something to see a couple of eagles teaching their young to fly over your house. Before the eagles settled in the area, we would have young osprey flying over our house every summer, but now they stay on the other side of the lake to give the eagles room.

The fact that you've found a nest in Florida is really amazing to me, as it really wasn't that long ago that these magnificent birds were endangered. Makes me happy.

How cool, you are so lucky to have seen some! The only one I ever saw was in captivity.

That reminds me that it is time to start looking up the eagle cams online. We have 5 or 6 nests that I know of in our area. We are lucky to be in a heavily nested area.

Thats a great sighting. I've only seen one bald eagle in the wild. Far off in the distance flying low over a NY swamp.

Wow great pics! I'm so glad you got to see this so closely. Just this weekend while driving in Weston, my wife and I saw what I think was a young bald eagle. It was the size of a bald eagle, but kind of blotchy, dark brown, gray and white I think.
