That when I go away on a much needed vacation, something bad happens at home. This time it was a burst pipe. Arg!!!!!!!!!!

What happens when you leave home?

Gage I'm hundreds of miles from home still and need to maybe go get am orchid to sooth my nerves. I wonder of the lowe's in Florida carries Tolumnia?

Uh ok...Florida rocks! I went to Lowe's thinking...why not check out the orchid selection. Well I did and I found me two Tolies! And I think I got the same deal as you, Gage! 7 bucks for some of the most beautiful plants I've seen and they even had names. No idea if the names are correct or not but dang! What a way to make me feel better.

Nice! Gotta love Lowe's.

Although I must say that I do make the occasional stop at Mickey's Orchids in Ft Lauderdale. They're a small nursery/breeder with mostly mounted Cattleya alliance minis(!!!!), an a LOT of B nodosa and its hybrids (I just bought a division of B nodosa 'Gail' yesterday). Sorry to hijack the convo, just showin the love for local growers.

That said, Lowe's still rocks!

Really blows about the pipes. Hope damage was minimal.

The Lowes up here never carry such things.

Either does mine back in Colorado. Why not tho? Maybe because they don't even know of the possibilities? Who knows, but when Gage mentioned these babies and I knew is be in FL I had to score some! I'll post some pics...

I think it's just a "what's available locally thing.". A lot of big nurseries in Fl, so the big box shops have lot to choose from, can buy wholesale, and sell cheaply. That's not the case as you move further north. Florida box stores do rock though. Nice find. Sorry about the pipe, and like said above, hope damage was negligible.
