They Exploded!
My Adenium obesum seed pods opened today! I'm very excited but haven't a clue what to do next... well the obvious..... plant them! My problem is I may not have enough warmth to get them to germinate. Any ideas? Anybody out there that is willing to be a surrogate MOM for a few weeks where it is warm?????

Howard, I might have a UTH (under the tank heater) pad you could use. (It is used to heat a section of reptile's enclosure.) In lieu of that, you might try an electric hot pad.

So since there's been like no responses, is it safe to say nobody wants to try to grow these from seed? They grow up pretty fast....
Paul maybe I could borrow your warming mat.... I assume it is waterproof.

Ryan, so far I've not had a problem. The main issue with most people is that they over water in the winter and they get root rot. They do need the sun light to look their best and to flower and grow without becoming etiolated. Want some seed? I've got lots and several more pods to open.

Submergence-wise I have no idea. But, as I'm sure you just mean if some water gets on them while watering the seedlings, should be fine. Oh, and I may have a thin plastic tray or two that you can use as a cache tray to set the seedlings in.

Cool! I've never seen their seeds before! Neat structure!
Hmmm... I wouldn't mind some Adenium seeds to practice with...

What did this plant look like in bloom? The seeds sticking around the mother plant is very cool looking.
