How much wine kills orchids...
ROLF... So, I was cooking and accidentally knocked my wine glass over ... On several of my orchids... So, I'm hoping they are all just enjoying the buzz at the moment, lol...

LOL... Believe me, I don't like to share my wine with my plants - only on rare accidental occasions, lol...

If it was red wine, then the tannins will boost their growth, there's something about them that roots love (or so I've read). I don't think there are going to be strong negative effects. Alcohol can kill roots (an involuntary experiment I did with rubbing alcohol) but the amounts in wine are really low in compariosn to rubbing alcohol!

I'd be really careful in the future. There's nothing worse than a totally plastered orchid. They can be soooo demanding. LOL

Lest your orchids reach "body snatcher" proportions or have to be admitted to AA.

Interesting topic - I remember reading a year or two ago that people would add a few cc's of vodka to their water/fert/KLN mix. I was always curious but too chicken to try it out. Plus, if my orchids are anything like me, if I give them any wine or vodka, they'll just get sleepy and send regrettable text messages at 2am.
