As some of you may know (maybe none of you, and that's OK) Euphoriba obesa and its assorted variations, i.e., symmetrica, White Ball, are dioecious, i.e., male and female flowers on separate plants. As I have found out there are many other possibilities when it comes to the "S" word among plants.... after all, this is a "G-Rated" site!

Anyway, I thought you might enjoy some neat pictures of a couple of my E. obesa in the greenhouse today. You can see both pistils and stamens on the same plant. The 1st two are of a male E. symmetrica and the last is a female E. obesa.
Am I a Boy or A Girl?
They remind me of the restroom signs at a plant breeding company I worked at. The door to the ladies room had a drawing of a female flower, and the men's room a male flower. Funny when there were non plant-savy visitors asking which door was which!!
