You're only as hot as you think you are. If you focus on other things, it won't be so bad.

Maybe you're just a cool grower. I'd suggest moving you into a cool greenhouse, but I doubt that would be a viable option for you.

I tried to slide some fact in with fiction and find the fiction is more readily available to my thought process than facts

Ive just had enough of it...Its not me I think of when I say its hot..Is what I REALLY am doing is speaking for my plants since you cant hear their screams.

I feel for you RJSquirrel, my son lived in Dallas/FortWorth area from 1995-2000. He gave up his job and moved back to Schenectady because he couldn't take the heat and humidity. He went from air-conditioning to air-conditioning. And at 11:PM it was still too hot & muggy to go for a walk. He took a pay cut and walked away. I myself have little tolerance for extreme heat since I'm from Montreal.

Yes, Texas is hot and especially this year. But, DH and I were raised in Michigan. And just thinking about winter up north keeps us right where we have been since 1976.

I feel for all the people going thru extreme heat, floods and hurricanes. Guess I forgot earthquakes. There was a lot of flooding on the Canadian prairies in spring but since then in my part of the world we have had one of the most lovely summers in recent history and the crops that were seeded (many couldn't due to flooding) look gorgeous. Harvest weather has been perfect and the next week's forecast is for 25 to 30 Celcius (I think around 80's Farenheit). That's warmer than normal for Sept. on the prairies. It's rained enough too for crops and gardens although there has been bad hail in some areas. I'll take our cold winters any day as we seem to get fairly stable weather in exchange for it.

Hip, hip, hurray, rain beautiful rain thanks to TS Lee.
According to the weather reports, Houston did not get much but I live the next county east and we are on the edge of the rain bands. And the temperature is nice too. However, looks like mid to high 90's are due for the end of the week. Ah, lovely September.

We had two days last week that set records here in Illinois last week. It was 102 one day and 101 the next. It is the hottest day ever recorded in September at 102. Corn crop will be awful here because we only got .25 inches of rain for August.
