I've never had a favourite flower because our culture is not 'flowery', I just got an orchid recently though and it is great.

This always reminds me of floating around in the seventies when it blooms.
Fairchild gardens has a tunnel trellis of them about 50 feet long.
Strongylodon.

I like the unusual and would say that the bat flower is probably my favorite flower.

It's hard to pin down favorites, with so many wonderful plants out there.

As far as orchids go, my favorites are Bolleas and Huntleyas (even though Huntleyas are a pain in the butt to grow). I've recently fallen in love with Anguloas and Lycastes.

My favorite non-orchid flowers are Hymenocallis (the peruvian daffodils), Star Jasmine (Trachelospermum), and lilies.

Frangipani, and himalayan blue poppies. The first for its intoxicating scent, the other for its vivid, blue colouring.

Huntleyas are easy in intermediate climes.I tried them in Miami. FAIL.
Here, you need a machete to keep them at bay.
Here's a really neat flower.
Hint. Almonds, peanuts, peanut butter, ice cream
You tropical folks hush. This is for yankees to guess.

Yeah... Reminds me of a nobile den. the way it flowers off of the main trunk like that. I've tried dried cacao beans that a friend brought back from Nicaragua. It's so unlike the chocolate that we consume that you always wonder who decided to use it like that in the first place!
