Graphocephala coccinea (a type of leafhopper)

And this "dead leaf" was just plain cool IMO. No idea what type of moth it is

oh wow - that is a gorgeous hopper! never seen anything like that before!

I just encountered a moth snoozing on a mounted plant yesterday - at first I thought a bit of bark from another plant had somehow ended up there - was about to dunk the mount in a bucket! Glad I noticed the moth before I did that - and the plant went without water for a day hehe

The colors are amazing on the first little guy! Your moth might be some type of Hummingbird moth. Was it large?

Not gigantic but yes I'd definitely say large.
