There were torrential rains and major flooding here, Dennis. I heard nothing of a tornado. If there was a sighting, it wasn't anything that had caused a problem. It is rare we have them here and if we did, they aren't as big and strong as the ones out in the plain states or tornado alley. Hurricanes are more a concern.
I am sure they are ok ...

Dennis -- My man--I'm fine--we had no wind at all.
but torrential rains & loads of wicked thundering which never ceased plus some lightning.Tried to get the dog out under the overhang of house at 8.30am ( hadn't been out since 11pm night before but before I could close the door he was back in! He held it 'til later which was 11 hrs!Lots of area flooding & lost power but since L I is sandy --it quickly disappears when rain stops.
I'm sure Marco is fine as no reports from that area saying otherwise. We never lost power.

There was a tornado in Islip Terrace (a distance from anyone I know on OB). There were 95 -100mph winds - did a bit of destruction but it was very isolated. There were more problems with flooding and the pipe explosion in NYC. What a terrible and scarey thing to have to experience especially post 9/11.
Glad Jane, Marco and Tindo are doing well!
Keep dry all

Actually I almost drove my car near the explosion on the day, and around the time of the explosion. Glad I didn't.
Now we have a summer noreaster to contend with. Glad you are ok to Dorothy!
