Default Snow Mountain Ranch

This former working ranch is now part of the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy. It is a great place for hiking and for spring wildflowers. We hiked there several weeks ago but I've only recently added a blog post about it with pictures of the area and the wildflowers:

Nice pictures! This is the only time of year I like the area east of the Cascades, that brief time when the hills are peppered with brilliant flowers.

That color difference in the Brodiaea is really interesting. Speciation at work!

I have to agree with you - for the rest of the year Eastern Washington is hot, dry and has little to see.
