Air Plants

Will this air plant ever really fill out more or is this basically how it'll look? I did trim the brown parts off and it doesn't look so bad now. Just sort of like getting a short haircut for summer. When and how often does it bloom?

Once a plant has matured and bloomed, it will not bloom again from the same plant. The new shoots will be the ones that bloom once they mature.

They will grow little pups. How many, I have no idea. Sometimes they're prolific, other times not so much.

The big one looks like a stricta, and the little ones look like some ionantha pups.Sounds like your doing good so far=)

Look for Neoreglia punctatissima var. rubra, Aechmea gamosepala, Tillandsia argentina.

I am currently growing spanish moss in my terrarium, it gets misted once/twice a day - but the temp does go up a bit with the lights, so I wanted to make sure there was humidity available, as there are no roots with this one. I rarely see air plants in a potted environment, they are litterally just hung about and misted every so often - usually in a little glass enclosure to help raise humidity as they absorb everything via their leaves....so far, 3 months later, my moss seems to be quite happy...(it is one of the few air plants i have found that is soft and pliable)

Thank you for sharing your growing tips! It's not really potted anymore. I got tired of shifting pebbles to get it to stand upright, so it's laying on top of pebbles with the side sitting on the edge of the bowl. It helps it face the sunshine too.
