Call it a consolation purchase

So for the last week I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of my latest orchid purchase. I had bought two rosemary plants to satisfy my need for instant gratification, but had no potting soil to repot. Enter my best friend and super evil shopping partner. I told her I had to go and get some potting soil, so, never one to miss a shopping excursion she came with me. Let me just say, I am an "in and out" kinda gal I don't linger in the store. Now I know why. I ended up putting this stuff in my basket. Now, I had every inclination to put this stuff back when super evil shopping partner stepped in. Here is the rationale I fell for "it's only two dollars, if it lives it lives, besides it's just an experiment right?" I don't know why I fall for that "experiment" line, somehow if I look at it that way then visions of an impenatrable jungle of man eating plants in the backyard seem to dissipate from my mind and it becomes okay to have one more plant.

The first, is a Selaginella I think it may be kraussiana but I can't know for sure because it didn't have a tag. I really like the club mosses but I have a habit of killing them I'm hoping this time will be different. The second is Tillandsia graomogolensis, a new plant for me. It looks like it has a bud that should be opening soon. I really liked the form on this plant, reminded me of a set prop from a Tim Burton film or something

Then, while in Whole Foods, I spotted this cute little phal. Small, fragrant, green and pink. I almost passed it up but, guess who was with me........so here's a pic of it now residing at my house. I swear I am not going shopping with her anymore.
