Default Spring in the Netherlands - flowers as far as the eye can see!

My sister came up for a visit, and yesterday we went to Lisse (where the famous Keukenhof garden is) to rent bicyces and tour the region, through the tulip fields and the dunes along the north sea. The scenery was so amazing that I just had to share it with you all! One thing I really loved was the fragrance. Going by Hyacinth fields is just a treat for the nose.

And finally, the price of cut tulips here: 50 for 6€! I thought that was cheap until I saw another place selling them 50 for 4€!

Thanks for sharing Camille! The pictures are wonderful--and perfect timing for me. My husband and I are going to the Netherlands on Sunday for a 10 day river cruise. I am so excited and can't wait to see and smell the beautiful flowers! I was told this is the best time of the year to see the tulips.

Brilliant one Camille! Thank you for sharing!
You've just brought back for me a load of wondrous memories from when I was 5 and the family was driving past all those wonderfully colourful fields.
Had me mesmerized back then and is doing the dame now

Beautiful Camille!

I'm jealous. I've been there twice in October. Acres, and acres, and acres of bare ground.

I did enjoy the North Sea though. Collected a lot of shells.

Cheers.

Judi, if you have the opportunity to visit Keukenhof gardens, do go, it's more than worth it! If you want to get up close to the bulb fields, renting bikes at the garden is the way to go.Have a great trip, hopefully the great weather we've been having here lately will continue.

Tough luck. But I agree, the north sea is very nice! 2 years ago I went up to Texel island for a weekend trip, and there are beautiful beaches of snow white sand. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of wild orchids growing in fields!
