Wow, thats great. Its a wonder cactus. I have one too, but have not seen it in bloom yet.
I'm moving this to the appropriate forum (Off topic forum).
Did you get any scent from yours?

WOW!!! Congratulations on getting it to flower!!!! I love the scent of this flower.. only downfall is it lasts a night....
Brings back a nice reminder of an experience I had last December sniffing the scent of 20 odd flowers of this open all on one night! My mum has a few gigantic specimens in her garden. (in Kenya) Do you grow yours indoors?? I'd be very interested to know how you grow it in/out? what medium you use as well as light and watering?... Apologies for all my questions!

that sounds awesome!
I have it indoors, right up against a glass door. It's potted in 50/50 sand/soil and watered once a week.
I think the secret to getting these to bloom is they need a bit of a chill in the fall in preparation for budding. Mine gets a bit of a chill from the doorway and it works great. I'm hoping for multiple blooms someday, but so far only singles.

Very nice; have you tried any of the other "night" blooming cereus? Selenicereus is very cool, with even larger flowers...

We have this plant also and the flowers are really quite amazing as your photo has captured. The only thing is being up and remembering to look to see when its going in bloom! I give you credit for getting this image. AL
