My orchids eat it up, though. They stay outside almost all year, at least until the weather starts going below 45 or so. They also come inside for hurricanes, obviously, as a flying orchid pot through one's window would be a nasty surprise. We don't get too many of them, though, thankfully.

If you were in Orlando you were right near my home town. Did you like Florida?

Disney was great! We stayed on the resort. Everyone was really nice and friendly. Just couldn't take the humidity. We were walking around like drenched puppies. My hair puffs out - really nice to see.

Uhm, hurricanes?? Yikes, I wouldn't like that! Maybe I'll stick with the cold. Although this afternoon it warmed up a bit. 5 degrees C ( 40F)

Well, we got some of the promised rain. Just a little, though. What we did get was cold. It is chilly and cloudy out right now (11:00 AM).
I have started taking plants out of the GH. Yesterday I brought out my mounted Platyceriums. Next week I hope to bring out the Rhipsalis and Orchids. That's a two day endeavor and I hope the weather cooperates.

Funny, up here in the Netherlands (which is pretty much level with southern Canada) spring got here a few weeks ago. Trees are turning green and this weekend is supposed to be in the mid 70s. Wish I could send you some of our spring weather, must not be fun to still have snow and cold in what is nearly April!

Droughts are as scary as hurricanes -- every few years we get super dry and have big fires in central Florida. There was even a relatively small one this year.

Ya'll can have some of our rain: it rained all day yesterday and all night the night before. There's a huge system moving south from Georgia, and we're supposed to have "strong thunderstorms" all day tomorrow. Sigh.

Here in Western New England we've had 10 days or so of freezing weather every night and barely above freezing during the day. My rain collector went up a few days earlier when it was warmer and now it's covered with ice.
I AM SICK OF WINTER!!!!
But don't worry about me- I'll be complaining about the heat in 4 months.

Woke up this morning to slushy rain. As long as I can get some sun, I'll just sit by the window and pretend it's not cold. :-)
