Sarracenia purpurea

I think this is a pretty cool plant - I love the coloring, the veining, the shape of the pitchers

Excellent more pretty weird things!

I love the Sarracenia genus, they are marvelous things. Just wish I could get mine to bloom someday.

The flowers are quite exquisite!

Loving the ferns too! Very unusual. The Ant Fern sort of reminds me of a Sea-slug and the Pyrrosia is very intriguing!

Is that a statement that you consider any New Species as Bizarre or have you spotted a couple of plants on this thread that you have not seen before? Either way New Species are very cool!

Again a bizarreness of plant nature is explosive seed distribution as demonstrated by the Sandbox Tree, aka Dynamite Tree, aka:

I know I can't throw that far!

I was referring to the fern posted by Evan. Just some wishful thinking. I doubt very much it is undescribed by science. Though you never know. Most new discoveries are made in the lab, not the field.

haha! And here I was thinking Tindo had discovered dancing bananas!

I also doubt my fern is an undescribed species. I'm just having trouble finding the resources that describe it.

some members of the oxalis family are also sensitive.
Here's a video I shot of oxalis rubra I had for awhile
pardon my clumsy mitts.
the oxalis silver/gold does it too but much more subtle

I did not know they were sensitive either but discovered it one day. looking into it I believe I remember finding that they were related to the 'sensitive plant' so it makes sense.

the oxalis passed away this year due to wet feet. if anyone knows of a source for rubra (yellow flowers) I am all ears!
