We have some pretty big magnolia trees down here! That's a relatively small one on Florida Southern College's campus -- we have some in town that are two or three times that size! They smell marvelous.

New flower spotted today -- this is growing on a vine on the fence at my workplace. I have NO idea what this is, but it's cool looking! Any ideas?

I've never heard of/ seen one of those before! Very cool :)

I'll have some more to add as the lilacs, one of my epimediums and one or two more lovelies are out :) Unfortunately, it won't be til friday or the weekend before I can take pics as work is in the way at the moment!

here's a "different" kind of lavender in flower where I work.. not a fab shot... I think it's really pretty & had never seen this before. No Idea on the name.

Ooh, cool!!

Nenella, I have a lavender like that - I call it a butterfly lavender, but I know that's not the proper name. I'll see if mine's still got the tag by it (though it may have been 'taken by the soil' by now!)

I had one like that for a few year (but it didn't do very well where I am). It was labled as butterfly lavender on the tag when I bought it, no idea the real name.

Just found that it may be Lavandula pedunculata subsp. pedunculata. Aparently that is called butterfly lavenda and the pictures seem to match.
