I love the colours on that mountain rose, so delicate and pretty
I took these a couple of weeks back, but I haven't been on OB much lately and so haven't had chance to put them on til now (.... I'll let all you nice folks at OB know what I've been up to when I'm hopefully celebrating at the end of Sep! )
Anyway, hope you like....
Edit - but for some reason, the pictures aren't there! I'll try and get them back! ... ah ha, got one, now let's try for the others! .... HOORAY!!

Sorry guys, vacation kept me from doing this earlier, and then I thought I had lost the pictures for a while. Glad I found them. Here are some pictures from early July at a beach on the north shore of Long Island.
Dodder - Cuscuta gronovii - A parasitic plant, as you can see it growing on something else. The kool thing is that it grows its roots into the skin of the host plant. Imagine if plants could parasitize us. Ewwww. The white bubbles are the flowers.
Saint John's Wort - Hypericum perforatum -- The leaves has translucent dots on the and the petals have brown dots around the edges.
Beach pea - Lathyrus japonicus
Spike grass - Distichlis spicata -- It covers the wetter ground of the salt marshes all across the easter US.
Rugose rose - Rosa rugosa -- two forms, a white and a red.
Virginia creeper - Parthenocissus quinquefolia - Leaves of five not your enemy.
Staghorn sumac - Rhus typhina
