Default Late spring flowers

First are three pics of Cornus kousa -- Korean dogwood. Has gorgeous red berrries in the fall. The cardinals love them.

Prunus serotina --- Wild black cherry

Viburnum acerifolium --- Maple leaved Viburnum

Liriodendron tulipifera ---- Tulip tree, or for our southern members Tulip poplar.

I thought it would be fun to post some grasses and sedges just to see how many different types there are. I don't know the names of any of them, but at least I can tell them apart

Carex sp --- First two pictures are of a species of sedge. I have the name floating around somewhere, just don't recall it or where I wrote it.

Rest are 6 different species of grasses all in bloom. I have counted at least 4 more species in bloom while driving on the expressway. Can't really stop for pictures though. It's cool to see the variety.

Thanks for looking and commenting Nenella. I counted I have posted the pics of over 150 plants from this spring. Does that qualify as botanizing?

I'm not qualified to answer that question, but if not I would suggest it is at the very least a definite sign of dedication!
Question is, will you start a Summer Blooms thread?
