This is the second time she has bloomed for me! Only one spike 2 years ago and 2 years later I get 2 spikes!!!
Please enjoy! First 2 pics are of yesterday, and I come home from school to see all these blooms!

My mom has one that she inherited from my grandma - the plant is at least 60 years old. We've divided it twice in the last ten years (one heck of a big, messy job), and each time it comes back bigger than before. It currently fills a two-foot-wide terra cotta pot, stands five feet tall, and blooms regularly every year. Amazingly resilient thing.

They are really quite pretty. The pictures I took don't do them justice, (especially since I suck at taking pictures). Sadly, the flowers are not long lived at all. Usually a day at most.

Fragrance???
I have had mine for 27 years, never had any blooms. I began researching on how to get it to bloom about 5 years ago and forgot about that project. I read it has a lot to do with lighting. What is your lighting like. Do they get a certain number of hours of uninterrupted dark? How strong sunlight are you giving it? Thanks.

Me neither. I felt the same shock when I saw Jade plants and Spider plants flowering, since I'm so used to seeing them being grown for their foliage.
